Ok maybe I'm just being a bit overdramatic by titling this post the way that I did. But I think it suits it to some extent. So yesterday was the day that Alin and I went over to Explorer to create the lab with the students. We had plenty of fun talking to the kindergartners, but uhm certain things happened. Like what? Well, when we entered the teacher's classroom, she was just doing some cleaning as her kids were having recess. I was setting up the camera as Alin went to find a freezer for our semi melting, duck shaped ice cubes. I then thought it would be a good idea to take off my backpack (to make the set up less of a hassle, and I'm quite surprised I didn't do that in the beginning). But as I swung it off my shoulder, I heard a couple of things fall onto the floor. I turned around to see plenty of little dirt cups on the floor (yeah, I knocked over their project). So that wasn't...so great (but hey, let's look on the brightside, they weren't plants, just some compost they created AND it was their last day of school so the teacher said it was ok). Fast forward to the part in which we actually started the lab; when asked what the reaction of ice in colored water would be, they all agreed that it would explode. Hahaha little kids are amazing. So yeah, that part went well...except for one thing, there was a camera that ran out of space whilst we were recording...so that kinda sucked. Well at least we can learn from yesterday's mistakes, right?
